Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and development of consumer products from initial concept to on-going product support
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development teams to progress understanding of systems and performance
• Brainstorm, solve problems, and build proof-of-concept prototypes
• Guide a team of mechanical engineers including co-ops and interns

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of related experience in design and development
• Demonstrated ability to bring enabling technologies into innovative products
• Skilled in prototyping including 3D printing, machining, and hand tools
• Proficient in CAD software such as Solidworks or CREO
• Experience working in a laboratory setting with test equipment and instrumentation
• Proficiency in Excel, Minitab, or Matlab to synthesize test data
• Ability to work in-person at the Needham, MA office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in product design and development including experimental test plan execution
• Previous experience in an applied engineering role for a consumer product company
• Experience with electronics including sensors, motors, heaters, and PCBAs
