Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture of the neck, including kinematics, joint arrangement, and structural design
• Lead actuation selection and packaging for degrees of freedom, evaluating motors and gearboxes
• Develop and validate head stabilization strategies in collaboration with controls engineers
• Manage cable routing, electrical pass-through, and serviceability across moving joints
• Design for quiet, smooth, and lifelike motion while managing gear noise and resonances

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of actuated mechanisms (robotics, gimbals, or precision motion)
• Expert-level proficiency with CAD software (Catia, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing gimbals, camera stabilization platforms, or pan-tilt mechanisms
• Background in acoustic and NVH design for mechanisms
• Experience with humanoid robots or animatronics
