Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and test mechanical systems and components for neutral atom quantum computers
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Identify issues during testing, recommend solutions, and implement them
• Help with inspection, assembly, and installation of quantum computer modules
• Specify, design, procure, and prepare prototypes and assist with product testing and validation
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturability requirements
• Support the creation of technical documentation, including design requirements, drawings, and assembly instructions
• Support design, procurement, and assembly of parts and enclosures by third-party vendors
• Perform incoming part acceptance inspection and general technical tasks like wiring and assembly

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
• Experience using PDM software (preferably Autodesk Vault)
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management and configuration management processes
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in thermal management and liquid cooling design
• Experience with power electronics systems and infrastructure
• Experience with opto-mechanical system design
• Experience working with optics and lasers
• Experience with prototype fabrication and testing
• Experience with MBSE
