Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies and systems from concept through production
• Own 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and drawing packages in SolidWorks
• Apply DFM, DFA, and DFT principles to drive manufacturability and scalability
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Oversee prototype builds, validation testing, and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition designs into production
• Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, weight, cost, and assembly efficiency
• Support field deployments and product demonstrations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of professional mechanical design experience
• Advanced 3D CAD skills in SolidWorks
• Experience designing complex electromechanical systems in demanding environments
• Familiarity with injection molding, sheet metal, die-casting, and CNC machining
• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA/DFT
• Experience with FEA and/or CFD tools
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (ITAR requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in UAVs, aircraft, robotics, or autonomous systems
• Experience with carbon fiber composites, high-strength polymers, or lightweight alloys
• Experience with thermal management of PCBs or wire routing
• Familiarity with AS9100, DO-160, or FAA Part 107
• Experience designing for automated assembly
