Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure projects by establishing system requirements and performing functional analyses
• Develop mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design schemes
• Prepare engineering calculations, including heat load and hydraulic modeling
• Manage and review engineering work packages, including project budgets and schedules
• Provide input for 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters to ensure project delivery
• Conduct interface management between related systems and disciplines
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and engineering reports

Requirements

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in mechanical engineering
• Professional Engineer (PEO) registration in Ontario
• Minimum 8 years of project engineering/design experience in buildings HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection
• Experience with infrastructure projects such as LRT, Metro, or Railway/transit design
• Proficiency with specialized engineering software including Carrier HAP, AFT Fathom, and eQUEST
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, ASHRAE) and regulations (OBC, NBC)
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary mechanical teams
