Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure projects by establishing system requirements and performing functional analyses
• Develop mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design schemes
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets, and reports
• Lead mechanical engineering teams to ensure delivery of project requirements regarding scope, cost, and schedule
• Manage and review engineering work packages, including project budgets and schedules
• Provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters
• Conduct interface management between related systems and disciplines

Requirements

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in mechanical engineering
• Professional Engineer (PEO) registration in Ontario
• Minimum 8 years of project engineering/design experience in buildings HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection
• Experience in infrastructure projects such as LRT, Metro, or Railway/transit design
• Proven experience leading mechanical teams in multi-disciplinary projects
• Proficiency with specialized engineering software (e.g., Carrier HAP, AFT Fathom, eQUEST)
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, ASHRAE) and codes (OBC, NBC)
