Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical sub-systems for sophisticated body-worn and in-car cameras.
• Drive concept designs that meet customer requirements, reliability, robustness, and safety guidelines.
• Perform hands-on 3D modeling and generate 2D drawings according to mechanical drafting standards.
• Manage bills of materials (BOM) and release mechanical prints.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior mechanical engineers and guide prototype troubleshooting.
• Define test methodologies and review certification testing results to mitigate compliance issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design components including injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal stamping.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with PTC Creo 3D, Solidworks, or equivalent modeling and surfacing software.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, and electromechanical assembly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and present conceptual ideas effectively to technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology or Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
• Demonstrated experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and heat transfer applications.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA).
• Experience designing products that meet water sealing requirements (IP standards).
• Familiarity with material properties for plastics, die castings, and sheet metal.
