Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Equipment in MMM

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level mechanical engineering involvement from project concept to completion, focusing on equipment selection and system integration.
• Evaluate and select appropriate sizes and specifications for mining, metals, and minerals (MMM) processing equipment.
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, project scopes of work, and equipment RFQs.
• Perform technical bid evaluations and engineering calculations for equipment sizing.
• Review shop drawings and attend equipment inspections as required.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams.
• Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability evaluations.
• Liaise with suppliers during the equipment procurement process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in the mining, metals, and minerals (MMM) industry.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of British Columbia.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in required engineering software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in piping engineering is considered a strong asset.
