About the role
Responsibilities
- Use mechanical and electrical flow down to design, select components, and route cables using CREO to verify cable path, volume capture, lengths, and interfaces
- Develop interconnection sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate conceptual designs and drawings using CREO, AutoCAD, and Windchill
- Review schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable assembly drawings, and associated component control drawings
- Act as the technical contact for the Mechanical Engineering organization regarding cable and harness interconnect design
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines and suppliers to coordinate technical requirements and objectives
Requirements
- STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience
- Proven experience in Interconnects design
- Proficiency with Creo or similar CAD software and PTC Windchill Product Data Management (PDM)
- Experience with Technical Data Package releases, CN/CR, and IRs
- Hands-on experience from concept definition through detailed design and manufacturing transition
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of interconnect component parts, including connectors, backshells, and wires
- Knowledge of military specifications, codes, standards, and associated QPLs/QMLs for cables and connectors
- Detailed experience using AutoCAD, CREO Routing, and CREO Schematic
- Experience with prototype and rapid hardware program development builds
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
