Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect the design of mechanical systems and sub-assemblies from 3D CAD to production-ready parts
• Collaborate with mechanical, industrial design, electrical, and manufacturing engineers
• Manage engineers, set best practices and standards, and strengthen engineering culture
• Drive design forward by pushing for elegant and effective solutions
• Report directly to the CEO in a hands-on engineering capacity

Requirements

• Experience with CAD and mechanical design of complex robotics or consumer electronics
• Direct ownership of systems or subsystems
• Experience with all stages of the concept to production cycle including rapid prototyping, DFM, and contract manufacturing
• Experience bringing novel technology to market

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mechanisms, mechatronics, and moving components
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and mass manufacturing methods
• Design optimization integrating CFD simulation results
• Electronics prototyping experience
• Experience collaborating with suppliers at the prototype and contract manufacturing stage
• Experience managing CAD systems and general assemblies
• Experience working with industrial design to incorporate ergonomics and aesthetics
