Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design complex VIP aircraft monuments including cabinets, bulkheads, vanities, lavatories, tables, and divans
• Design complex mechanisms for moving features such as doors, drawers, and tables
• Select materials based on structural needs, evaluating trade-offs in composites, coatings, and treatments
• Optimize designs for reduced parts counts and manufacturing costs in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers
• Ensure all designs meet customer criteria, quality standards, and FAA requirements
• Provide design guidance, feedback, and liaison engineering support to other personnel
• Support test setup preparation and the development of test reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience
• Proven aviation background and aircraft interior experience
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Inventor preferred) and 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of industry design and drafting standards (ANSI Y14.5)
• Understanding of manufacturing methodologies, design-for-manufacturing, and assembly
• Understanding of mechanical motion modeling and weight and balance analysis
• Must qualify as a US Person for ITAR compliance
