Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and own the release of components to meet performance and functional requirements
  • Drive design release process including CAD/BOM, change management, and documentation
  • Lead DFMEA development, risk identification, and RPN burn-down
  • Lead key supplier engagements and partner with manufacturing engineering for high-volume production transition
  • Collaborate with Cell and Enclosure teams to define interface requirements
  • Own validation and compliance testing to ensure component performance and reliability
  • Support line bring-up activities including hands-on fabrication and testing of prototypes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting (SolidWorks)
  • Experience designing plastic components across various resins and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with DFMEA, design release processes, and engineering change management (ECOs)
  • Experience taking products from early-stage development through production
  • Strong fundamentals in first-principles engineering and design rigor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in analysis tools (e.g., FEA) or Python
  • Understanding of battery systems, electrochemical systems, and fluidics
