Senior Mechanical Engineer, Fluid Systems

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of critical fluid subsystems and components across all phases
• Perform detailed design and analysis, including material selection, sizing, and system integration
• Collaborate with staff and senior engineers to refine system architecture
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high-quality fabrication
• Produce clear engineering documentation, including drawings and GD&T
• Partner with testing teams to validate performance and iterate based on data
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and deployment environments
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical, aerospace, naval, or marine engineering
• 5+ years designing components and subsystems for fluid systems
• 5+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience
• Experience with complex, safety-critical, or high-performance fluid systems
• Strong engineering fundamentals including hand calculations and simulation tools
• Experience contributing to multiple design-build-test cycles
• Ability to travel to vendors and test sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field
• Proficiency with NX/Teamcenter or similar CAD/PLM tools
• Familiarity with marine or offshore systems (hydraulics, welded structures)
• Experience with programming tools such as Python, Julia, or Mathematica
• Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME Y14.5
