Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of innovative data center cooling solutions, including thermal management strategies and liquid cooling technologies.
• Provide technical engineering leadership in mechanical design aspects, such as Whitespace design, chiller plants, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and facility water systems.
• Develop advanced cooling strategies, including hot/cold aisle containment, air, liquid, and hybrid systems.
• Research and design solutions using emerging technologies like direct-to-chip liquid cooling and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs).
• Conduct or support Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize airflow and thermal performance to meet PUE targets.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers and Business teams to ensure technical quality in quotations and successful project execution.
• Act as a subject matter expert in client-facing meetings with engineering consultants, contractors, and end-users.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and specifications complying with industry standards such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, and OCP.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of specific experience focused on data center or mission-critical projects.
• Deep technical knowledge of data center power and cooling architectures, including HVAC, chilled water systems, pumps, and motors.
• Proficiency with design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards chartership.
• Experience with CFD simulation tools.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) controls.
