About the role

About the Company

Candid is building the AI layer for EPCs. We use AI to reduce the manual effort behind preconstruction engineering by automating document understanding, consistency checks, and repetitive workflow steps across major disciplines. Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and leading industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical engineering on FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work
  • Act as a quality gate for automated mechanical outputs to ensure accuracy
  • Define equipment scope development and validation through FEED for power and gas-to-power projects
  • Review and validate mechanical content across equipment datasheets, vendor packages, and discipline handoffs
  • Build repeatable checks to identify scope gaps and inconsistencies
  • Map mechanical rework patterns and identify drivers of rework
  • Clarify interface points with Process, Piping, I&C, and Electrical disciplines
  • Define product requirements to automate repetitive engineering tasks

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience at a large-scale EPC, PMC, owner-operator, or OEM
  • Direct experience with combined cycle, simple cycle, gas-to-power, LNG, or cogeneration projects
  • Proven experience owning mechanical equipment datasheet development and vendor package review through FEED
  • Deep knowledge of rotating and power-plant equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps, and compressors
  • Proficiency with equipment specification to API and ASME standards (API 610, 611, 612, 617; ASME VIII; B31.1)
  • Experience coordinating OEM turbine and major equipment packages (e.g., GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power)
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies across datasheets, P&IDs, and vendor packages
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a discipline lead or technical authority
  • Experience with data center or behind-the-meter power campuses
  • Experience taking equipment from FEED into procurement and detailed engineering
  • Experience with packaged/modular systems and skid integration
  • Interest in AI and automation
