Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop consumer products from initial concept through production, including 3D surface CAD modeling and electronic constraint drawings.
• Design injection molded, compression-molded, and co-molded plastic parts and assemblies using Creo.
• Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to all product designs.
• Develop detailed manufacturing packages, including BOMs, 3D CAD databases, and detailed part/assembly drawings.
• Manage Mechanical BOM and ECO processes using PLM tools such as Windchill or Agile.
• Coordinate quotation, prototype fabrication, tooling, testing, and verification of product requirements.
• Monitor and meet product schedules, specifications, and budgets while ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

Requirements

• BSME or MSME/MSIE degree.
• 8-10 years of experience in consumer product development, including collaboration with Industrial Designers and Electrical Engineers.
• Proficiency in Creo 3.0 or higher for product design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, machining, and rapid prototyping.
• Proven competency with tolerance stack-up and structural analysis.
• Experience with PLM tools like Windchill or Agile.
• Ability to travel approximately 15%-20%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing waterproof and impact-resistant products.
• Strong materials knowledge and experience with decoration processes (painting, metallization, laser etching, etc.).
• Multi-country joint development experience, specifically working with Asia-based manufacturing.
• Onsite manufacturing experience.
