Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify technical problems and provide innovative, creative solutions for electromechanical hardware.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to define and solve engineering changes to meet performance and functional criteria.
• Lead or participate in design and change reviews with the Sustaining Team and Engineering Change Board.
• Generate high-quality technical documentation, including design requirement specifications, engineering prints, material specifications, and bills-of-materials.
• Proactively report quality or compliance concerns and implement corrective or preventive actions.
• Develop new design ideas to enhance technical and cost competitiveness for the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical components, subsystems, or products.
• Proven track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably within medical devices or highly regulated industries.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software, specifically SolidEdge.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS for structural analysis.
• Expertise in DFSS tools, including stack-up tolerance analysis, DOE, and MSA.
• Experience with DFMEA and Risk Assessment methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, injection molding, die casting, extrusion, machining, and ultrasonic welding.
• Familiarity with soft goods (textiles) and plating processes.
