Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify technical problems and provide innovative, creative solutions for electromechanical hardware.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to define and solve engineering changes to meet performance and functional criteria.
• Lead or participate in design and change reviews with the Sustaining Team and Engineering Change Board.
• Generate and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including design requirement specifications, engineering prints, and bills-of-materials.
• Use engineering tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.
• Identify and report quality or compliance concerns, taking immediate corrective or preventive action as needed.
• Proactively communicate developments or issues that affect project commitments and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical components, subsystems, or products.
• Proven track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably within medical devices or highly regulated industries.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software, specifically SolidEdge, with strong GD&T knowledge.
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS for structural analysis.
• Experience using DFSS tools, including stack-up tolerance analysis, DOE, MSA, and failure analysis.
• Experience with DFMEA and Risk Assessment methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, metal stamping, die casting, extrusion, machining, and ultrasonic welding.
• Familiarity with soft goods (textiles) and plating processes.
