Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, including B31.3 process piping.
• Develop, review, approve, and check engineering calculations, layouts, specifications, and drawings.
• Apply advanced engineering judgment to resolve complex design issues.
• Support project planning through scope definition, equipment sizing, schedule development, and budget control.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, architectural, and process disciplines.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and SRS engineering and quality procedures.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 15+ years of industrial or government design experience in mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing building systems.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design completion.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and standards including IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and ASME.
• US Citizenship is required (dual citizenship is not permitted).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE site security badge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the SRS Engineering standards program and SRS engineering procedures.
