Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor materials incorporated within the works for compliance with requirements
• Inspect site works to ensure construction aligns with contract drawings, specifications, and good engineering practice
• Witness and monitor relevant tests, trial assemblies, and equipment systems
• Provide technical advice and respond to requests for information from main contractors
• Advise the Contract Administrator on payments, approvals, and the need for special investigations
• Liaise with the Contract Administrator, site staff from other consultants, and Building Control
• Define areas of defective workmanship or materials and prepare snagging lists
• Maintain comprehensive record systems including site diaries and weekly reports
• Monitor working practices on site for compliance with safety procedures and material storage requirements
• Assist the design team with engineering coordination regarding site matters

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in site roles and engineering consultancy firms
• Strong understanding of buildability aspects and construction techniques
• Ability to implement and follow QHSE policies and local regulatory guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant field
• Chartered Engineering status
• Previous experience working on projects within the Middle East
