Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D assembly drawings and 3D models for complex mechanical systems, specifically press-type machinery
• Translate paper-based drawings into accurate digital SolidWorks models
• Build complete machine models from scratch based on conceptual designs and technical specifications
• Integrate off-the-shelf components using proper mating, constraints, and BOM management
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimize designs for production efficiency and reliability
• Perform strength, stability, and durability calculations using analytical and FEM methods
• Prepare full technical documentation packages including specifications, BOMs, and assembly instructions
• Collaborate with manufacturing, safety, and procurement teams
• Conduct technical root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions
• Modernize existing solutions to increase reliability and reduce weight/energy consumption

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, assemblies, drawings, PDM)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting
• Solid understanding of engineering drawing standards (ESKD, GOST, ISO, ASME)
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance analysis, and GD&T
• Knowledge of fasteners, rolled metal, and material selection
• Professional working proficiency in English for technical documentation and international communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Machine Building
• Experience designing equipment for ammunition processing or energetics handling
• Familiarity with FEA, motion studies, or simulation tools in SolidWorks
• Experience with pressure vessels, hydraulic/pneumatic presses, or automated systems
• Knowledge of composite materials and 3D printing technologies
