Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Company

Matic is on a mission to recapture lost time by revolutionizing home robotics. Their first product is a floor cleaning robot utilizing spatial AI, real-time 3D mapping, and on-device neural networks to provide full home autonomy while maintaining privacy by design.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and manufacturing of critical parts and sub-assemblies
• Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, and advance concepts through to high volume production
• Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate product lifetime
• Conduct component level testing for performance, durability, reliability, and variability
• Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings
• Work cross-functionally with hardware, software, supply chain, and product teams
• Establish relationships with vendors, suppliers, and CMs in a startup environment

Requirements

• Technical degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 5+ years of professional mechanical design engineering experience on a high-volume B2C product
• Proven track record of executing complex mechanical design problems and building physical prototypes
• Experience with products that have successfully shipped
• Strong understanding of materials and high-volume manufacturing methods, particularly Injection Molding
• Proficiency in Solidworks
• Comfort with PDM, PLM, Engineering Change Management, and Quality Management systems
• Knowledge of GD&T, finite element analysis, and design for reliability concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in NVH, motors, or turbo motors
