Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the mechanical design of loudspeaker systems, including safety-critical lifting hardware
• Perform structural load analysis using hand calculations and FEA tools to validate and optimize designs
• Apply geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack analysis to ensure product fit and assembly
• Design for various manufacturing processes including welded fabrication, CNC woodworking, sheet metal, extrusions, and injection moulding
• Provide mentoring to team members and assist with drawing checking and validation
• Attend concerts or installations to understand product use cases
• Visit suppliers or contract manufacturers as required

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or an associated discipline
• Previous experience in mechanical design or product development
• Proficiency in professional 3D CAD packages (Solidworks, Creo Parametric, or Fusion 360 preferred)
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings for manufacture and quality control
• Experience using PLM systems for document control and change management
• Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack analysis
• Ability to use FEA tools and hand calculations for structural analysis
