Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Airbag Systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and release body interior components and subsystems into production
• Collaborate with attribute leads, cross-functional engineering teams, and manufacturing teams
• Support source selection activities and work with Global Supply Chain team and suppliers
• Utilize CATIA V5/V6 for CAD design and direct design personnel on packaging and detailing
• Execute quality and robustness activities such as DFMEA and DVP&R
• Support vehicle prototype and production build activities to ensure proper fit and function

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of automotive engineering experience in interior systems design and release
• Experience with CAD design tools and production drawing releases

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with industrial design on concept feasibility
• Proven track record of delivery from concept through launch
• Ability to work with rapid development cycles and experimental hardware
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
