Senior Material Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
• Oversee purchasing, receipt, inspection, storage, and material control functions.
• Manage material flow in and out of warehouses, lay-downs, and project tool rooms.
• Supervise project support responsibilities including site security, recycling, and jobsite setup.
• Lead large project mobilization and demobilization efforts.
• Represent the company in negotiating policies with suppliers and resolving vendor grievances.
• Manage financial planning, projections, expediting, and project reporting.
• Implement and monitor site-specific purchasing and material control plans.

Requirements

• BA/BS in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management, or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in large construction project purchasing or material control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
• Strong knowledge of purchasing and materials management for large-scale construction.
• Ability to travel and relocate for short- and long-term field assignments.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP.
• Relevant military experience in logistics or supply chain.
