About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead preliminary and detailed structural design efforts for marine infrastructure projects
- Perform, review, and oversee structural analysis and design for marine structures
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including coastal, civil, and geotechnical engineers
- Facilitate collaboration with construction teams to ensure optimal design constructability
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase
- Mentor and lead junior engineers in their technical development
- Contribute to Marine & Coastal Resiliency (MCR) technical proposals and internal process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree is an asset)
- 12+ years of experience in structural engineering of marine structures (e.g., piers, floating docks, sea walls, wharfs)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required
- Proven experience performing berthing and mooring analysis and design of marine fenders
- Proficiency in English (proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with marine terminal operations
- Experience with project delivery models such as Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, or Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)
