Senior Marine River Pilot

Responsibilities

• Serve as second-in-command to the Marine River Captain, directing daily watch activities and promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.
• Manage, mentor, and evaluate vessel crew members to ensure proper training and job progression.
• Ensure vessel compliance with all USCG and Company regulations, including the enforcement of safety policies and drills.
• Prepare and execute voyage plans, manage tow configurations, and oversee the pick-up and drop-off of barges.
• Utilize advanced navigational expertise and technical skills to prevent accidents, avoid hazards, and protect the environment.
• Maintain clear communication with Central Dispatch, fleet personnel, dock personnel, and other vessels.
• Monitor the mechanical and operational condition of the vessel and coordinate necessary maintenance notifications.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
• USCG Mate/Pilot license.
• Valid USCG medical certificate.
• Four (4) years of related experience.
