About the role
Responsibilities
- Work as part of an engineering team to develop the Neutron Recovery program
- Own critical Recovery Sub System designs, analysis, and technical details
- Serve as a technical expert for marine system designs and recovered flight hardware post-processing
- Develop technical details for Recovery designs, including hardware specifications and testing procedures
- Collaborate with Rocket Lab Engineering teams to ensure system operationality
- Support Recovery system fabrication and testing onsite at Wallops Island and other facilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, naval, marine, electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering
- 5+ years of work experience related to aerospace vehicles/payloads or marine assemblies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary systems (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Fluids, or Marine)
- Experience working on challenging projects with tight timelines and budgets
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize work in fast-paced, high-stress environments
