About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement equipment controls solutions including robotics, automated storage, and vision systems
  • Own equipment controls standards, hardware programming, and robot programming
  • Lead maintenance teams, continuous improvement projects, and root cause analysis
  • Design, prototype, and build new assembly processes with full documentation
  • Perform engineering calculations for cycle time, strength of materials, and machine design
  • Manage equipment suppliers and integrators through all project phases
  • Lead Kaizen events to optimize assembly processes
  • Draft qualification protocols and manage equipment qualification

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing manufacturing automation solutions
  • 3+ years in automation design at a machine integrator or equivalent
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with PLC systems, HMIs, and industrial robots
  • Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis, Gantry, SCARA), pneumatics, and servo motors
  • Experience with machine qualification, calibration, and design of experiments
  • Application of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FANUC, UR, IR Vision, or Cognex
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with rapid prototyping (FDM/SLA 3D printing)
  • Knowledge of automated dispensing, potting, laser marking, or laser welding
  • Experience with factory design, layout, and simulation tools like Arena
