About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide automation technical leadership for building and maintaining automation systems supporting GMP drug substance plant operations
- Maintain the Building Automation System (BAS) on Siemens Desigo CC
- Collaborate with process subject matter experts to transform requirements into digital automated solutions
- Support commissioning and qualification efforts, including Automation Installation Verification and Check Out (IV/ACO)
- Lead technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting for utilities and building automation controls
- Manage day-to-day operational support, including 24/7 on-call support and preventative maintenance
- Support new product and technology introductions through automation engineering assessments and configuration changes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Knowledge of BAS design and building control engineering
- Experience with Siemens Building Automation systems
- Experience with Rockwell industrial automation hardware and systems
- Understanding of GAMPs and GMPs in a highly regulated environment
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering
- Experience with system integration using OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and DeviceNet technologies
- Experience in Capital Project Lifecycle Management, including conceptual design and detailed engineering
- Background in programming, design, and lifecycle management of PLC and field device technologies
- Strong technical writing, communication, and mentorship skills
