About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of production documentation for complex DNA sequencing systems, including IQC, build, test, and rework procedures
- Review and update documentation for high-volume procurement, including drawings for cables, PCBA, and electromechanical assemblies
- Support new product development (NPI), engineering tests, and contract manufacturing (CM) outsourcing
- Partner with R&D teams on design transfer, Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Act as the first line of defense for manufacturing issues, performing root cause analysis on production equipment and failed assemblies
- Develop and maintain project schedules for BOM releases, long lead time orders, and risk buys
- Apply DFA and DFQ principles to optimize design and production processes
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience scaling products from R&D to full-scale capital equipment production
- Experience building, testing, or troubleshooting automated instruments or robotic systems
- Proficiency in reading PCB schematics, board layouts, harness drawings, and multi-level BOMs
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and other bench test equipment
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Arena or equivalent
- Proficiency with electrical CAD packages like Altium or KiCAD
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing and design of PCBAs and knowledge of IPC standards
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Experience with automation and data analysis using Python
