Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and assembly procedures
• Partner with mechanical design engineers to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Design and procure production tooling, jigs, and fixtures
• Collaborate with external suppliers and machine shops to qualify vendors and manage non-conformances
• Interpret and redline 2D engineering drawings using GD&T standards
• Perform hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and debugging on the shop floor
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) using lean manufacturing principles

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in precision, low-to-mid volume production
• Expertise in machining, tight-tolerance assembly, and electromechanical integration
• Strong command of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD tools
• Familiarity with AS9100, FAIR/PPAP processes, and inspection methodologies (CMM, functional gauging)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing custom test fixtures and writing inspection procedures
• Hands-on experience with precision gearboxes and AGMA-compliant inspection
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems for managing BOMs and work orders
• Formal training or certification in Lean or Six Sigma
• Experience in both high-compliance aerospace and fast-paced R&D environments
