Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design reviews as an expert in design for manufacture, machining, productivity, and quality control
• Design, develop, and implement tooling and equipment to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects using lean tools like 5S
• Collaborate with propulsion assembly technicians for alignment and support
• Perform Value Stream Mapping, Method of Manufacture planning, and cell design
• Implement factory layouts, equipment selection, and production commissioning
• Develop and document production processes, testing procedures, and safety requirements
• Interface with quality teams to lead problem containment and root cause investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or similar discipline
• 5+ years of experience for Level I or 8+ years for Level II in a heavy development manufacturing environment
• Understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced engineering degree
• Experience with design, testing, and development of turbopumps or turbomachinery
• Expertise in GD&T and inspection methods
• Experience with capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, and value stream mapping
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and tooling design
