About the role
Responsibilities
- Responsible for installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, testing, and fabrication of mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical/avionics assemblies
- Conduct design for excellence (DFx) reviews to evaluate designs for cost, producibility, and conformance
- Collaborate with design, quality, and certification teams to embed manufacturability and risk mitigation
- Develop and ensure compliance with quality management systems, technical bulletins, and airworthiness directives
- Develop processes to ensure accurate and complete documentation including installation and inspection records
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Ensure adequate supply of tools, parts, and consumables for aircraft servicing
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant experience
- 7+ years of aircraft design, manufacturing, inspection, and/or testing experience
- 2+ years of experience leading complex projects in aerospace, autonomy, or robotics
- 2+ years of experience with CAD and PLM software (e.g., Altium, NX, Teamcenter)
- Ability to travel 30% of the time to San Martin, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA-accredited Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Prototype/R&D development or New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
- Experience with AS9100, CFR 14 CFR 21.137, or 14 CFR Part 145
- Knowledge of turbine-powered aircraft systems (powerplants, flight controls, hydraulics, etc.)
- Maintenance and rigging experience on P&W PT6A Engines/Airframes
