Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy. We are rapidly designing and building a pulser-driven inertial fusion system to achieve net facility gain.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative mechanical designs for complex engineering problems
- Develop solutions to improve assembly throughput while maintaining high quality
- Interface with cross functional teams in manufacturing and facilities
- Design assembly tooling and lifting fixtures for a high volume manufacturing line
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain documentation for assembly, lifting, and inspection procedures
- Perform impact assessments on variances in final assemblies and delivered parts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of CAD software, such as Creo
- Experience in the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
