About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and document manufacturing processes, assembly sequences, and standard work instructions for BESS enclosures and power conversion systems
- Lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) reviews to improve manufacturability and reduce costs
- Define and validate station-level requirements including tooling, fixtures, and material flow
- Establish production readiness milestones and end-of-line (EOL) test checkpoints
- Specify and commission functional and safety test procedures for high-voltage systems
- Partner with contract manufacturers on process transfer, production ramp, and ongoing process control
- Drive root-cause analysis on quality escapes and implement corrective actions
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods
- Manage engineering change management (ECN/ECO) within ERP/PLM systems
- Support production capacity planning and line balancing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 3+ years of manufacturing/process engineering experience with electromechanical products
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical cabinet assembly, wiring, and busbar termination
- Understanding of power systems fundamentals including DC battery systems and AC power distribution
- Proficiency with DFMA principles, GD&T, and electrical schematics
- Experience creating work instructions, process FMEAs, and control plans
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Experience working in an ERP/PLM environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with battery module/pack integration and BMS interfaces
- Experience with medium-voltage equipment and microgrid integration
- Knowledge of UL 9540, UL 1741, and NFPA 70/70E standards
- Experience standing up new production lines or transferring products to contract manufacturers
- Familiarity with test automation and LabVIEW
