About the role
Responsibilities
- Work with design engineering teams to drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and participate in design reviews and tolerance stackup analysis.
- Develop and qualify manufacturing and inspection processes, including process validation and documentation.
- Write production procedures, work order templates, and process specifications.
- Partner with supplier quality and contract manufacturers to develop manufacturing and quality processes.
- Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and implement system improvements.
- Own scheduling and prioritization for machined part production and inspection.
- Assist in machining, programming, and designing fixturing for production as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical degree.
- 5+ years of professional experience in CNC machining and programming.
- Expert knowledge of GD&T and drawing reviews.
- Mechanical design experience, including creating solid models and prints.
- Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco headquarters 5 days a week.
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fusion 360, Mastercam, or other CAM software.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Solidworks or NX.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers to qualify manufacturing and quality processes.
- Hands-on experience with first article inspection reports and precision hand tools.
- Experience implementing MES/MRP systems in a production environment.
