About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality
  • Act as the magnet owner with overall accountability for the weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm)
  • Make real-time decisions within established guardrails and escalate issues when necessary
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and SOPs
  • Collaborate with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance production performance
  • Lead the design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct time and motion studies to determine optimal production methods

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and manufacturing ERP systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to work the specified weekend shift (Friday through Sunday)
  • Dedication to safety in an environment involving heat, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
  • Experience with failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
