About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring project goals and progress are clearly documented and communicated
- Provide daily support to production floor operations to ensure products, processes, and equipment meet safety, quality, and cost objectives
- Lead projects for new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train and mentor technicians, product builders, and junior engineering staff on key technical tasks
- Support technicians in troubleshooting complex technical issues during production
- Apply continuous improvement tools to identify and recommend enhancements to processes and products
- Assess the feasibility of new technologies and equipment, managing Capital Equipment Request Authorizations (CERAs) as needed
- Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments, analyzing data to report findings to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
- Proven experience managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously
- Practical understanding of manufacturing problem-solving and process improvement tools, such as DMAIC
- Knowledge of production flow tools, including LEAN manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
- Experience working within the medical device industry
- Experience with New Product Integration (NPI)
- Experience with polymers, sub-assemblies, or thermal processes
- Experience with the validation and qualification of equipment and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas using visual methods
