Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Based in Austin, TX, we’re rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world’s first fleet of advanced microreactors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixturing for CNC milling, turning, and waterjet/laser cutting
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, setup sheets, and process routings
  • Evaluate and select cutting tools, work holding solutions, and machining strategies
  • Program or support CNC programming using G-code and CAM software
  • Design and lead fabrication of tooling and fixtures
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to develop inspection plans
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing and efficiency improvements
  • Track and report key manufacturing metrics like scrap rate and cycle time
  • Mentor and train shop personnel on new processes

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/process engineering role supporting a machine shop
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (AS9100, ISO 13485, NQA-1, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience with CNC machining processes (multi-axis milling, turning, EDM, grinding)
  • Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, NX CAM, Fusion 360) and CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo)
  • Knowledge of material properties and cutting characteristics
  • Experience writing and maintaining controlled manufacturing procedures
  • Proficiency with hand measuring tools and digital measuring tools (CMM, scanners)
  • Familiarity with special processes like welding, heat treatment, and NDE
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Austin, TX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • ASME Y14.5 GD&T Technologist or Senior level certifications
  • 3 years of hands-on machining experience
  • 3 years of hands-on CNC programming experience
