Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer

Matic is on a mission to recapture lost time by revolutionizing home robotics. Their first product is a floor cleaning robot that utilizes spatial AI, real-time 3D mapping, and adaptive path-tracking to work reliably in real homes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production fixtures, QC equipment, and specialized tooling
• Collaborate with product design, quality, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues
• Partner with vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
• Perform FMEA, root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions based on yield data
• Prototype, fabricate, and iterate manufacturing solutions
• Perform component-level testing for performance, durability, and reliability
• Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
• Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to ensure scalable production

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• 10+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, tooling, or equipment development
• Proven experience bringing complex mechanical designs from concept to production
• Experience with products that have shipped to customers
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, injection molding, casting, welding, and mechanical assembly
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Experience with tolerance analysis and process optimization
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and engineering change management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sensors, motors, or fluid systems
