Senior Manual Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate turret or engine lathes and manual mill machines to produce components with close tolerances.
• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and dimensional specifications.
• Mount workpieces between centers, in chucks, or to faceplates.
• Inspect run pieces and perform spot checks on succeeding pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and CCM to verify accuracy.
• Machine various materials including bronze, stainless steel, and plastics.
• Determine appropriate speeds, feeds, and tool selections for various machining tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 7+ years of experience in manual machining.
• Proven experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Experience machining finish-grade components to tight tolerances.
• Ability to cut internal and external threads.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to read complex blueprints.
