Senior Manager, Technical Writing

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical writers, including hiring and performance management
• Define and own documentation strategy, standards, and governance across multiple product areas
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align documentation priorities with product roadmaps and business objectives
• Ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and consistent across platforms
• Drive continuous improvement of documentation workflows, including automation and AI-driven efficiencies
• Establish and maintain style guidelines, information architecture, and information design best practices
• Measure documentation impact using qualitative and quantitative signals to inform strategy

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation
• 4+ years of experience leading or managing technical writing teams
• Proven ownership of complex, developer-focused documentation ecosystems
• Experience defining documentation strategy, content planning, and tooling at scale
• Deep familiarity with user guides, release notes, API documentation, and open-source documentation
• Strong understanding of CCMS platforms, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience applying AI to documentation workflows
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, UX designers, and engineering leaders
• Experience operating in agile or DevOps-driven environments
