Senior Manager & Tech Lead, Translational Data Engineering & AI

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and operation of data ingestion pipelines for biomarker and clinical data.
• Design and implement AI-enabled tools to automate and troubleshoot data ingestion processes.
• Manage a team of data ingestion engineers, providing technical leadership and driving software engineering best practices.
• Define and implement metadata curation and management tools in coordination with the technology organization.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for agentic orchestration frameworks across R&D functions.
• Collaborate with internal labs and contract research organizations to onboard new assays and establish data transfer specifications.
• Implement data validation and quality control checks to remediate ingestion failures and data quality issues.
• Contribute to platform architecture discussions and recommend improvements in orchestration and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in data or platform engineering, with 2–3 years specifically focused on biomarker or clinical data ingestion.
• Proficiency in Python and database design, with hands-on experience using Databricks.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Nextflow, or Snakemake.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS), HPC, and secure data handling practices.
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with clinical data standards including CDISC, SDTM, and ADaM.
• Experience working with various biomarker assays (e.g., proteomics, sequencing, flow cytometry).
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical projects and mentoring engineers.
