Senior Manager, System Integration & Commissioning

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of physicists and engineers to deliver customer systems in support of company level objectives
• Identify and drive design changes in current and future system to improve the commissioning process
• Align the teams with industry best practices for installation and commissioning of customer systems
• Develop requirements for next generation systems to drive operational improvements
• Drive integration improvements through design optimization and automation
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Collaborate with internal and external customers, engineers, and physicists
• Manage costs and schedules across the operations program
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering and scientific talent
• Lead root cause investigations for complex system delivery issues
• Define and manage key performance metrics for the team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, Physics, or related field
• 8+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience
• Experience managing and mentoring engineers, physicists, or scientists
• Experience taking a complex product through the entire design lifecycle
• Experience delivering complex hardware and software products to customers
• Demonstrated experience planning product deliveries (cost, schedule, labor)
• Experience identifying and driving corrective actions for design issues
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Prior experience managing managers

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical leadership and people management experience
• Direct experience in complex system integration, specifically Validation and Verification
• Experience with free space optics and laser systems
• Experience integrating electronics and software
• Prior experience with quantum computing
• Experience with scripting languages like Python or Go
