Senior Manager Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a high-performing SRE and infrastructure unit in India, managing engineers across Infrastructure, Automation, Cloud Operations, and SRE.
• Establish the SRE Center of Excellence in India by developing a robust operating model that supports global engineering teams across multiple time zones.
• Drive a "platform-as-a-product" strategy, creating self-service capabilities for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
• Lead the transition from monolithic architectures to modular, cloud-native, multi-service platform architectures.
• Improve service availability and reduce MTTR by developing solid incident handling processes and reliability standards (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
• Champion automation and toil reduction initiatives to improve operational efficiency and allow engineers to focus on high-value work.
• Partner with product, security, and architecture leaders to align platform investments with long-term business strategy and customer experience.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• 6+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing distributed or international teams.
• Proven experience scaling and directing engineering units of 10–20+ people.
• Expertise in cloud-native platform architectures and operating secure, scalable systems in high-traffic SaaS or cloud environments.
• Deep understanding of observability, incident management, SLOs/SLIs, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong communication and influence skills to align senior stakeholders across different technical and business functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with technologies such as Go, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Terraform, or Datadog.
• Familiarity with AI-driven developer tools or using AI to enhance engineering productivity and incident response.
• Experience managing large-scale engineering transformations or platform consolidations.
