Senior Manager, Ride & Show Engineering (Scenic)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical management, including budget and schedule oversight, for attraction systems.
• Oversee the specification, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and Show scenic elements and props.
• Ensure all equipment maintains the highest level of safety in accordance with company specifications and applicable standards.
• Manage vendors regarding design, fabrication, and day-to-day field installation, testing, and adjustment activities.
• Create scope of work documentation and award contracts based on creative intent and technical requirements.
• Coordinate technical interactions between project team members, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless installation.
• Advise on the engineering quality and risk management of Show and Ride systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Technical Theater, Architecture, Set/Scenic Design, or Building Construction) or equivalent experience.
• Direct theme park-specific technical or engineering experience supporting scenic elements (e.g., rockwork, facades, or themed concrete).
• Proven experience in scenic systems.
• Extensive vendor management experience with significant in-field installation expertise.
• Strong ability to interpret technical instructions, mathematical diagrams, and manage complex task series.
• Proficiency in schedule analysis and contract management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with contract management and practices within the theme park or construction industries.
• Ability to influence major decisions with tact and diplomacy in non-routine environments.
