Senior Manager, Play Expansion & Acquisition

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Commercial organization to identify, evaluate, and scale play opportunities in expanded retail and experiential verticals
• Develop scalable program frameworks that enable Magic play in new environments
• Own strategy and execution across Magic play for new-to-play acquisition initiatives
• Establish clear success metrics for acquisition and expansion programs
• Serve as the primary liaison between the central Play Team and internal international teams
• Build feedback loops with regional teams to surface market insights
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, and Organized Play teams

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
• Proven success launching or scaling programs in retail, experiential, or group-focused environments
• Experience crafting and executing acquisition strategies with measurable business impact
• Strong strategic thinking and operational excellence
• Ability to influence without direct authority in a global, matrixed organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with international markets and regional teams
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities, especially fluency in Japanese
• Familiarity with hobby retail, specialty retail, or entertainment verticals
• Experience in live events, organized play, or community ecosystem development
• Passion for Magic: The Gathering and tabletop gaming
