Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the genetic disease patient advocacy strategic plan
• Facilitate engagements with patient advocacy groups to identify collaboration opportunities
• Lead corporate communication initiatives and content creation
• Support presence at patient community events and conferences
• Aid in development and execution of patient advisory council activities
• Contribute to the development of patient-facing educational materials
• Manage approval processes for materials, contracts, and grant requests
• Champion the patient voice to inform internal decision making
• Aid in day-to-day operations of the patient advocacy function

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with patient advocacy groups or professional associations
• 3+ years of experience in the genetic and/or rare disease community
• Experience working in biotech/pharma as a liaison with advocacy groups
• Demonstrated experience building relationships with patients and organizations
• Knowledge of compliance, legal, and regulatory issues in biopharmaceuticals
• Experience creating patient-facing materials and managing approval processes
• Ability to explain complex scientific concepts to non-medical audiences
• Ability to work in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
• Willingness to travel to meet with advocates and attend conferences
