About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the slip/gain/fade management framework across all branches to track and respond to project margin variance
  • Drive weekly cost-at-completion forecasting and compare actual vs. estimated labor, materials, and subcontracts
  • Define and enforce early warning indicators for margin erosion such as labor overruns and procurement delays
  • Lead structured project reviews including kickoff, mid-project, and closeout sessions
  • Oversee construction project planning and execution to ensure proper staffing and resource coordination
  • Conduct operational site visits and project audits to assess execution quality and labor productivity
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and project controls across all branch locations
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Operations Managers to build leadership capacity
  • Partner with Finance and Branch leadership to improve forecasting accuracy and achieve margin targets

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sprinkler contracting or fire protection
  • Direct accountability for project financial performance
  • Expertise in slip/gain/fade management and cost-at-completion analysis
  • Proven track record managing multi-branch or multi-region construction operations
  • Deep knowledge of sprinkler system construction, labor productivity, and project controls
  • Strong financial acumen including ability to act on project cost reports and P&L
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET certification or relevant fire protection industry certifications
  • Experience with ERP and construction management software
  • Lean Construction or Six Sigma training
  • Experience in PE-backed or rapid-growth organizations involving M&A integration
